Whatnot seller fees
Two charges come out of a US sale. Commission is Whatnot's cut of the item price. Processing is the card fee on the whole order. Your cost is not a Whatnot fee. If you leave it out, the number you get is earnings, not profit.

Whatnot commission
Commission is on the item price. Buyer-paid shipping and tax are not in that base. Most US categories start at 8%, including sports, TCG, and fashion. Coins and money start at 4%. Sell more across a four-week window and the next window can be cheaper. Crossing a tier tonight does not cut tonight's rate.
On some high-value categories, Whatnot has charged no commission on the part of a single order above $1,500. Processing still applies to the full order. This calculator uses one rate on the whole item, so check Seller Hub before you trust a flat 8% on a $3,000 piece.
Payment processing
Processing is 2.9% plus $0.30 per order in the US. The percent hits what the buyer paid, including shipping they paid and tax. This calculator does not add sales tax. On a real order, tax makes the processing line a little higher.

Does Whatnot take a cut of shipping?

Why is my Whatnot commission lower than 8%?
Whatnot lowers commission after you pass sales thresholds in a four-week period. The new rate applies to the next period. Check Seller Hub and type that rate into the calculator.
Does the Whatnot fee calculator include my cost?
Only if you type what you paid. Platform fees are not profit. Profit is what is left after fees, shipping you covered, and your cost.
